Here on our little flower farm, we grow old-fashioned flowers the old-fashioned way, bringing together seeds, sunshine, good soil and beautiful old-fashioned scents.

We’re lucky to spend our days surrounded by blooms, bees and the changing seasons, and we’d love to share a little piece of it with you.

Remember those beautiful flowers our Nanna’s use to grow, with scents that made you giddy! Well, that’s what we love to grow, those old- fashioned favourites that have been forgotten. We use organic, regenerative and permaculture-inspired practices, and love creating food and habitat for bees and other pollinators.

There’s something so lovely about lighting a beeswax candle at the end of a busy day and letting the world feel a little quieter. Beeswax burns so cleanly and we source it from our local beekeepers.

How it all started…

It all began with a single beehive tucked beneath two old trees — a Rosewood and a Fig.

At the time, I had no idea those two old trees would one day name my flower farm, or that those bees would lead me on a winding path through permaculture, food growing and horticulture.

For many years, as a bee keeper and Horticulturalist, I designed and cared for produce gardens for restaurants, schools and families, while sharing my love of growing food and bee keeping with teenagers in schools.

Then Varroa mite arrived in Australia, a deadly mite that has threatened the very world of bees and changed beekeeping forever. At the time it brought all bee keeping in the Hunter Valley to a stop, and so it felt like the right time to pivot and bring Rosewood & Fig home to the farm and create something new…

The next chapter began … Rosewood and Fig Flower Farm. Something I could share with others and the bees- beautiful blooms!

So whether it’s a bunch of beautifully scented flowers, the warm glow of a beeswax candle or a few peaceful hours spent with us at the farm, I can’t wait to share a little piece of Rosewood & Fig with you.
